Ibanez

Serial Lookup & Year Reference

Ibanez is a Hoshino Gakki brand: the firm’s roots go back to 1908 in Nagoya, while the name honors Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez of Valencia (Hoshino began labeling its own guitars “Ibanez” around the 1930s). After 1970s legal storms it rose again; RG, S, and JEM models helped define modern rock and metal tones. Choices by Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and others made Ibanez a top pick for technical players.
